Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. She was born in Winnipeg and born in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, and was the 2nd youngest recipient in Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian born New Zealand actress. As a child, Paquin won her the Academy Award for best support actress. Her performance as the enthusiastic and lively girl of Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) brought her the prize. The part of Flora McGrath - the daughter of the Scottish muffled pianist from New Zealand at mid-19th Century was hers after she participated in an audition for the role. In her twenties, she had little or no experience acting. When she was a teenager her family relocated to the United States. Paquin was chosen to play the role of the child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. Also, she was an important role on the screen in Fly Away Home, a film that was released in that same year. Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a lesser part. She was a teenager as teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) as well as the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
